Woke up early this morning and went to help out at my uncle's carrot cake stall in Teck Whye market. It was the first time I ever work as a waitress.

It was tough job. You have to remember the orders and the people who ordered them. And where they sat. It's especially challenging especially when the business is good. =)

People always gave me a surprised look when I placed the food on their table as they didn't expect a teen to serve them. HaHAhaha... maybe I will be a legend in Teck Whye's hawker centre =P Fat dreams..

I found it very satisfying when my uncle closed shop by 1015am. He sold all the carrot cake he has made!

Perhaps I will do it again next Sunday. =)

Was great! =)

Considering the fact that I haven't step into the SPH building for a few months and still manage to see some good friends of mine. Went there to pay up for my Jiangsu trip and to attend a briefing.

Met Xinyao whom I found out will be going too!! Xinyao is also from NTU, mass comm and is a very fun and cute gal in my opinion. We chatted for a while before I was told to give out receipts to those students and parents . Xinyao commented that my chinese writing was so cute. Some parent said that she's trying to comfort me jokingly. Geez. I know even my own mum felt that my handwriting resembles that of a 12 year old instead of 21.

Darn.

Anyway, briefing started. The 4 parents present were seated and the students seat on the floor. The itinery for the trip was as below.

Day 1 : Report to Changi airport at 6am (...) Fly to Shanghai airport and travel to Suzhou by bus. Taste Suzhou's traditional food. Overnight in Suzhou.

Day 2: Visit Singapore's Industrial Park over there ( Xinyao commented softly that it was the same park that nearly fail. Nearly) , visit a famous garden there and also an embriodery centre or silk centre. Overnight in Suzhou.

Day 3: Head for Yangzhou after breakfast. Visit Xi hu, Da ming Shi, plus a memorial park, Ping shan Tang and others. Taste 1 of the 4 famous Yangzhou's dishes. ( Cross fingers and pray that it's not Yangzhou's Fried Rice. I will cry there ) Overnight in Yangzhou.

Day 4: Head for Nanjing. Visit some more famous places including the President's place. Visit the news centre there and interact with the student journalists. ( they are sec 1 and 2 students ). Visit Confucious Temple at night. Overnight in Nanjing.

Day 5: Visit Nanjing's museum. Return to Singapore.

Wee!!! and the best thing is we will be flying by SIA and all meals are included. Pretty good for the price of $450 I paid. =) I was estatic until I saw my name on the main comm's list.

Medic.

Again.

I felt the huge rock upon my shoulders when the main comm was introduced to the students. The parents looked relieved. I can only smile.

A huge rock of responsibility. I can only hope that everyone stays healthy.

Went to met up with my boyfriend to go to the World Book Fair at Suntec City. We actually saw Kym Ng and Quan Yifeng there filming for the Channel U's show, " Yuan Lai Jiu Shi Ni ".
They are pretty good looking in real life! =)

The book fair was rather disappointing I feel. In fact, I think it's getting worse each year.

No matter what kind of choices you are facing, one will always tremoudously relieved after the decision making. Yap! I made my choice and decided to stick to the path. Hee, never give up!!! =)

For the first time in years, I'm looking forward to school reopens. Just after 3 weeks of data entry. Hhaha... oh well.. -____-

Working is not really that bad though, considering that one gets paid. Plus one gets to meet tons of different people from all walks of life. I have a wonderful female boss who never raise her voice no matter how bad any situation is. I have a colleague from China who's pretty cool and never raise his voice as well. AND, I have a colleague who sighed at the tiniest setback. I found it quite irritating so I always just plugged on my MP3. Never like negative people.

Will be going China in 2 weeks time =) Going to Suzhou to be exact. The place rumoured to produce fair and beautiful maids.. oops, I mean maidens =P ( And no kyz i don't think i will bring any back =P ) Yap, can't wait for the trip. It's a short trip that will allow me to interact with the Suzhou journalists over there... ( hopefully the guys are handsome =P ) and hopefully, I won't embarass myself by my poor Mandarin. As long as the message gets across, who cares? =P

Yes, I found myself standing at an important fork in my life, because either way is ultiamtely going to have a huge impact in my life.

Huge.

I am looking at now at both roads and seriously considering the pros and cons and consequences if I take either one. I am quite prepared to take the path less taken, but frankly, I'm scared too. Of the changes and of the things and people I may lose. However, I'm also rather excited at the thought of THAT path. THAT path has been in my mind for past two years.

I do not dare to elaborate on the 2 paths laid upon me. I know the people reading this will most probably...call and sms me and give me tons of comments and advice. I'm hoping that I can successfully take THAT path, and I must admit that I do not dare to listen to others as it may cause THAT path to sway away from me.

I am rather angry and disappointed with myself for not being able to see far into the future, unlike many of my guy friends. They always knew what they want and how to get there..

I am slower than them again.

And like what my boyfriend always try to tell and instill into me:" It is your own life. Decide how you want to live. But no matter what decision in life you made, do not regret. "

I pray that I have strong heart.

Exhausting.

Totally exhausting.

Went for my CCA music training camp and I thought my fingers will bleed at the end of each day. 3 days of torture which i paid 5 bucks for. How dumb can i get...

But hey, it may be the last time I can ever play so long with my CCA friends. Many of them are graduating. I can only pray that they will come back frequent to practise violin with me again..

Today was my first day of work and at 6 am I was greeted with a huge rain. The rain started dancing in the wind and my jeans were drenched.

Work was pretty ok I guess... data entry... dry work but safe enough for me to hang on for hopefully 2 months and earn enough money for my textbooks and new clothes =P

Will be going Pulau Ubin and Changi Beach tomorrow. Hope I survive.

Yesterday

Went to Mu chuan again =) Reached there rather early as Shimei wanted to work on her stuff and meet the deadline. I actually managed to chat a little with Ah Du on his playing of the keyboard. I must admit again, I totally admire Ah Du's talent for the keyboard, and I love his voice which i found very soothing.

There was a japanese female guest singer. She was so petite! =) those small sized, cute looking type. BUT, her voice was so powerful and so were her keyboard skills. My jaws just dropped. Super impressed by her! And she also showed us a newspaper clipping which she herself made. Pretty cute but sadly, I can't decipher the Japanese characters. Argh.

Got a chance to speak to Xingrong before I left the place while waiting for my friends. He wasn't as fierce or unapproachable as he seemed to me =P In fact he was quite friendly and we chatted a bit on his recent endeavours. And I do wish him the very very best for the competition!! =) and i do hope I have a chance to hear him sing...

Today

Today's weather was perfect for sleeping.... It was already drizzling at 1030am.

Went to bukit timah nature reserve with my course mates, to learn more about the management of nature reserves. We saw many signs being put up to tell people not to feed the monkeys and not to bring dogs. As my lecturer said :" Dogs do not belong to nature reserve".

She then brought us to the surroundings of the foot of the nature reserve. All the mud paths that I 've trodden on were gone. They have been replaced by neatly laid cemented paths. There was a look out point completed with a hut at the famous quarry and even a playground for kids.
All these are the measures taken by the national park board to reduce the number of people going up the actual nature reserve of bukit timah.

The Board is pretty smart I feel. They actually tried to trick people into thinking that they had stepped into Bukit Timah nature reserve when they were actually just at the foot of the hill. According to my lecturer, to many people, as long as they are surrounded by lots of trees ( which they do not care whether it's fruit trees or what have you), they are in a NATURAL place... As long as it's effective enough to keep the number of people climbing up the hill =P

Up till this point of time, I still feel pretty ashamed by the fact that my British teacher is doing much more than most Singaporeans for Singapore's nature . Haiz.

Got terribly drenched as I walked up to the summit with Xingyi in the rain. It was pouring as we went down the hill and for the first time in my life, I worried about ROLLING down the steep slope of the hill.

I never regretted climbing up the hill when the rest didn't.

And I'm real glad to have Xingyi to walk the path with me =)

Went for my first lesson on "Ecotourism in Singapore" class last night.

To my surprise, the lecturer was a British residing in Singapore. I always assume that this subject will be taught by a Singaporean since it's totally on Singapore. I felt quite ashamed as a Singaporean, at the thought of foreigners knowing more than the locals on our very own country.

Gosh.

Her name is Margie Hall, and she told the class that she immediately bought a book on the history of Singapore once she's here.

And geez... the only time I read any history on Singapore was in Secondary School. And frankly speaking, I read it for exams, not for interest sake. I bet she probably know more about Singapore than most Singaporeans.

Nonetheless,I love this course, because I love nature =) and because there will be field trips!! May be going to Pulau Ubin next tuesday..

Weee...

I have always been very attracted to talent, esp those in music.

Went to Muchuan night with a gang of TXYs = Shimei, Shiping and Cheng Yao and Yu ching. I was so impressed by the 4 performers' vocals, namely, Ah Du, Meilian, Ximei and Jianhua. And I totally love the way Ah Du played the keyboard. Shimei told me that he only takes 1 day to figure out the chords and stuff purely by listening to the song.

Wa. My jaws just dropped. And dropped.

I agreed with Yingzheng, Ah Du has a very silky voice. You should hear him sing Wong Li Hom's "Forever Love" and "A Simple SOng" . Trust me, you will feel like praying to him after that =P

Oh yeah, Muchuan has a drink on it's menu called "Nightmare" in Chinese. I wondered how people ordered the drink ..."Can I have a Nightmare please?" or " I want a Nightmare"?

Cheng Yao ordered: " yi bei er meng".( 1 nightmare please)

Waitress came with drink :"ni de er meng" (here's your nightmare)

Cheng Yao then informed me that there's a drink in a Taiwan's cafe called "Shang Chuang" (go to bed -_-)
Then we started thinking aloud about how people esp women order the drink

"wo yao shang chuang"? ( I want to go the bed -_- )

Waiter or waitress with drink " xiao jie na yi wei yao shang chuang?" (Who wants to have xxx?)

Really wonder why those people who name the drinks came up with such funny names =P

WEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

Finally... at last I can let down my hair and relax!!

1. Exams are over =)

2. I managed to shift all my stuff from hostel back to home sweet home within one day with the help of my boyfriend =) But unfortunately, all my stuff from hostel covers my room's entire floor plus my desk. SO my room is once again, a fire hazard.

And that makes my mum wonder if she give birth to 3 sons or 2 sons and a daughter.

Tsk tsk...

3. I managed to fix my house computer!!! After reformatting ALL BY MYSELF... hahhah... yap =P not much to some people but hey, it's a lot to me =P

4. Just managed to complete my last and final lab report for my second academic year in Uni life

5. I'm going to mu chuan tonight with my two friends!!! ( I must admit I promised them 1 month ago..... >.< )

Haiz, kind of sad that I'm shifting out of hostel though. Had been privileged to stay in one of the best halls in NTU... but I believe i need to spend more time at home too.. oh well =)

And I want to get out of Singapore!!! yeah... really want to go overseas and take a good look around... Just love travelling =)

But I guess I have to clear my room's floor first right.........
