Hope this won't keep the guys off from reading my blog though >.< cos I know some guys are totally anti pink. Is this a sign of manliness???
But then again, there's this guy who told with me before that he's favourite colour is pink too..
Is this a sign of unmanliness????
Hmmm... now I wonder what one's favourite colour tell about that person ..hee =)
Feeling quite relieved that 209 ( Advanced Biochemistry ) paper is finally over today. Was feeling quite nervous last night and just couldn't sleep.. >.< posted by qiumqium | 5:47 AM

just something I read =)
Yap, the title speaks for me again =)
I came across this extract from a chinese romance novel.
Before I go on, let me assure everyone that I DO NOT read books on romance. Whether it's in English, Chinese, Tamil or what have you..
My boyfriend does though.. >.< I swear I do not know why...
He's the first guy I ever know to read books on romance. In Chinese. Those with beautiful girls on the book covers >.< I read the extract from a book I found on his living room table.
Oops... anyway. The extract is something like this:
1 man and 2 women are standing in front of god. God promised to grant them each a wish, whatever they want in their upcoming new life.
The man asked for unlimited amount of money. God said ok.
The first woman asked for beauty that no other woman can match . God agrees to do it.
The last woman stepped forward and told god:" I want to meet a guy that I love deeply and live together with him happily ever after".
"My dear, I can grant you either for you to meet a man you love, or a man who loves you. But should you really choose to meet a man you love, you two can never be together. So now, do you want to meet a man you love? or a man who loves you?"
The last woman hesitated, but answered firmly:
" I want to meet a man whom I love deeply"
God sighed and granted her wish as well.
Yap, that's the end.
So which one will you choose??
To meet someone who loves you??
Or to meet someone you love??
Share with me ya.. =) posted by qiumqium | 1:38 PM

Motivation
Motivation for study comes in many forms.. or rather 2 main forms : physical and mental =P
Physical forms are those like food, rewards like a new playstation for kids, for adults, it's most probably sleep =P
Mental forms like erm.... fear of bad results, fulfilling of personal targets and goals? But I feel that the best mental form is competition. Healthy competition with friends that is =)
My friend Kailing said that and I couldn't agree with her more.
When I was in Sec 1, I topped my class.
When I was in Sec 2, I was second for my class for the first semester. And top student, a feamle class mate of mine whom I shall not name, came up to me and said with a smirk:
"I finally caught up with you".
How I disliked the look on her face. Argh.. >.<
I topped the class in the final examinations at the end of the year and that wiped off the smirk off her face.
HA.
Here I am back in hostel because I needed some motivation, some competition, some kind of push. My roommate is in the same course, same year as me =P
Nah, I am not the competitive type. Not in studies anyway =P
I used to be competitive, especially in sports during my secondary and JC days.
My primary school classmates are the reason that pushed and forced me to excel in running. Some of the female classmates couldn't believe their ears when they heard that I'm representing our primary school to take part in the National Interschool Track and Field. So they came up to me and asked me which event I was running. 100m, 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m was my answer. All short distances.
And they challenged me in the 1.6Km run in physical fitness test.
They all beat me to it.
"You are not that fast what.." and they walked off, smirking away.
I never felt so dejected before. Primary 6 only!!!
That was the turning point of my life.
I became one of the top few girls in cross country running and record holder for 100m during Sec 2 in my secondary school.
HA HA.
SO now, just hope the competitive side of me last through the last week of my exams =) posted by qiumqium | 7:06 AM

4 more >.<
YAP!!!
4 more papers to go and I'm a free girl/woman/lady/lass...!!!! =)
Nothing much happened since I last blogged. Here's a glimpse of my life for the past few days:
-wake up at 730am ( I have no idea why too, but it definitely shocked my mum) - eat my breakfast as if I have all the time in the world - switched on the radio - study -lunch -study -nap ( sometimes... hmmm.. or rather usually =P ) -bath - study - disturb mum in kitchen -dinner -study - bath - study -sleep
Talk about routine. >.<
Which is worst: To spend a few days on a sunny little island call tekong, or spend a few weeks preparing for exams? posted by qiumqium | 10:13 AM

Thanks palS!! =)
oh my... wednesday le... nothing much happened these days except my mum just shook her head for the don't know how many times when she past my room again..
It's a fire hazard area, that's all. =P Well, I shifted some stuff back from hostel and so... hmmm.. managed to mess up the room again.
I found myself standing on the little red stool and bring my huge doraemon and winnie the pooh down from my cupboard. As one can see, moral and physical support are rather crucial especially during exam periods.
Hee, take this opportunity to thank my friends who contiuously read my blog and leave comments here =)
Thank you Crystal, Xingyi and KYZ! ( YZ sorry ah... bad habits are hard to change =P )
Thanks mum too, I love you! =) posted by qiumqium | 4:11 AM

I think the title says it all.
Stress.
Headache.
As usual when exams are here.
But this time is different: I'm actually studying at the comfort of my dearest home! And not in hostel.. some times a change of environment is good... And of course the best thing is I don't have to worry about food =P I love mum!
And it's always good to have my piano, violin and guitar with me. Just in case i need to destress and break something......... posted by qiumqium | 4:17 AM

err.... thank goodness I'm safe? =P
Weee!!! Yesterday had been a eventful day =)
Yingzheng drove!!! =P Yap, he drove me to Muchuan in Chinatown, after I accidentally led him to a dead end in the carpark near my block... hahahah... tested his driving skills which he called a "warm up". On our way there, I pointed out what I usually call an "ah beng" car to Yingzheng.
(An ah beng car is one which has a lot of flashy stickers stuck all over the car surface. Those attention seeking cars. Usually the car is black)
As the car moves closer to the Ah beng car, we realised that those graphics on the cars are actually ERA advertisements!!! The back of the car has the ERA agent's name.. I remembered it's Vincent Kok or Kwok and his handphone number . Right below the car plate was this line in italics : " Always there for you" . It was hilarious!! =D
But it also goes to show how competitive the market is for these poor agents. They have to crack the whole of their to attract attention and leave a deep impression for others. Geez... I don't think I will ever work in that line >.<
Our car was horned at in Chinatown.
I commented that those experienced drivers should try to be more understanding to those people to just get their licenses. Then Yingzheng said that he didn't get horned at as much as his friends. "Perhaps it's due to the sticker behind? My dad bought it for me when I got my license." Yingzheng pointed at the blue sticker stuck on the rear window , visible for all those driving behind him. It read:
"I turn and swerve in random"
Ahhhhh~... That explains everything.(Better take out my rosary beads =P )
Before I knew it, the car was cuttting across 2 wide lanes on the left and I found myself staring at the entrance of the carpark of Apollo Centre. Wooo.... =D impressed by the fact that I was actually still in 1 piece.... haha...
It's my very first trip to Muchuan. I was there to support Shimei and Shiping =) then I realise Cheng yao was there as well! I saw their teacher Ah du and the guitarist. Their skills really took my breathe away and their music experiences are so rich, and that set me thinking into wondering what I've been doing for the past 21 years. Those 2 guys are only in their early twenties!!!!
What on earth have I been doing???
We left Muchuan for East Coast Park to attend Kailing's (our secondary school friend) 21st birthday party =) This is the first time I ever attended any 21st birthday party... hee... had been unaavailable for the past few ones.
Got to meet secondary schoolmates after... like....hmmm...4 years?? wow... ^_^ Met Steve and Yanqi ( aka Yikai now) too... I remembered that the first time I met time was way back in Sec 4, and now they pop out again =) It was really nice to see them again.
It's funny how some people keep popping out in your life.. is this what they call "got fate" in chinese terms?
I hope these people will stay, somewhere and somehow in my life =)
Oh yes, kYZ! Thanks for the ride again =) Really. posted by qiumqium | 11:24 AM

The start of the race
Preparing for exams is the same as preparing for a marathon or race.
A few months before the race, you start training. If you are taking part in a 100m sprint, you make sure your body can do 200m. Well... at least that was how I train in secondary school track days =P
1 month before the race you have to quit spicy food because they eat up your stamina. You get ready your spike shoes and check that the spikes are sharp.
On the day of the race you apply some muscle rub and drink a bit of red bull. Then you warm up. Get yourself a bit nervous. Tie your shoelaces tight.
Run.
Likewise for exams. During the first few months, you absorb as much as you can. Practise whenever you can. Take notes.
1 month before exams you try to clear all your doubts and finish all the assignments and lab reports. >.< Tidy and organise your notes. If you have not enough, oh well, it's either you beg, steal or borrow =P Vigorous studying and revision starts and pause the tv series . Load up all the stationary you need.
On the day itself, take ginseng or chicken essence to stay wake. Have a good rest the night before and have breakfast. Get a bit nervous.
Write as if you will die tomorrow.
Oops... just some crap to release my stress. Got a slight fever yesterday and was nagged by my bf to drink some lin yang.
It didn't taste as bad as I thought =)
Today is the last day of my school. And the study break starts .
The start of the race.
KYZ !!! Can I borrow your brain?? =P posted by qiumqium | 6:00 AM

"Puto-puto" is a native visayan term for "cupcake". =)Yo, I'm Qiumqium, a wrongly spelled name for the meaning of salty in Hokkien.=P
Loves to window shop, see the world beyond my window grills. Hopes to walk around the earth one day, sleep under the stars. Feels that languages are beautiful and powerful.
